About Kuusi

A local staple, reimagined

kuusi-mercantile-13.jpg

Kuusi breathes new life into the mercantile tradition, serving as both a unique shop and an inviting gathering space on the Keweenaw Peninsula. In a landmark building that dates to 1880, housewares and provisions handpicked for their beauty, utility, and quality are complemented by vintage finds and one-of-a-kind art pieces. Made with care and intention, these are items to savor, to treasure, to elevate the ordinary to the extraordinary.

Whether you’re popping in to grab essentials for your day, staying awhile, having a chat and finding a special gift, or attending one of our can’t-miss events, we can’t wait to welcome you.

MEET LISA

Owner

Lisa Huther is a proud daughter and granddaughter of Keweenaw locals, and her lifetime of experiences here center around family. She created Kuusi to share goods and gatherings that reflect the things she and her family have always loved about life on the peninsula: wild beauty, good people, and a slower pace that helps us (re)discover life’s simple joys.
